Yesterday was the perfect day for a pre-Christmas catch up with some friends of mine over at Frensham Little Pond. The weather was perfect, cold and chilly but sunny and crisp, the perfect opportunity for a group of sausage dogs to throw on their Winter coats and show all the other dogs how it’s done!
Nanny and Rodney came along too however Rodders just wanted to get straight in the pond for a drink, he wondered what the crunchy stuff was, he’d never been in frozen water! I kept to the edges, not because it was too cold but because I didn’t want to get my jumper wet. Obviously.
My buddies Wolgang & Wilhelm where there, I love those guys! Dad wishes my beard would grow like Wolfgang’s as he’s such a distinguished looking gentleman but Mum says I’m more of scruffy pup, I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not?
Wilhelm checked out the perimeters to make sure there were no imposters in our group…
Whilst we were waiting for the others to arrive, Wolfgang got a bit bored so he decided to show us his impressive digging skills, boy that dog can dig! I was intrigued as to how deep he could go, maybe a small chocolate dog might fit in there?
Nanny was a bit concerned as it seemed Rodney too has a penchant for digging holes, bye bye Nannys lawn, it was nice knowing you…
Soon the others arrived including Otto the rather handsome long haired dude, at least Nanny didn’t feel like the only redhead…
After we greeted each other, sniffed each others bums and barked loudly at other dogs that weren’t dachshunds, we set off around the pond!
Rodney got bored of waiting for everyone on the bridge, impatient sausage…
Alan got to see his girlfriend Edith again, they are such a cute little couple and loved playing together!
Otto and I took in the views across the pond, a beautiful day for chasing birds and squirrels…
And then we were off again!
Here’s a little snippet of our walk, that cool standard bringing up the rear is Fonz, can you believe that dude is going to be 10 in January!
Half way round the walk we found some pre-dug holes, my buddy Wolfgang just HAD to help make it that little bit deeper, he should get a job on a building site, maybe my Grandad would employ him?
After we dried our paws and changed into our Christmas jumpers, it was time to head to the pub for some lunch, Rodney had never been to a pub before so he was pretty excited however Nanny wouldn’t let him have a pint, spoilt sport…
Half way through our lunch we had a VIP guest in the form of my Lovely Lottie! Her Mum really wasn’t very well so she was unable to make the walk however Lottie’s Dad bought her later so we could see her, the perfect end to a fun walk! Isn’t she gorgeous?
Alan & Edith had cuddles with Edith’s Mum however I think they only had eyes for each other…
His & Her’s matching Christmas jumpers, SO cute! However Alan hasn’t shut up about how AMAZING little Edith is all day long!!
And of course, the obligatory group line-up shot which is always pretty hard to get when you have pups that can’t look in the same direction – I’m looking at you, the 3 chocolate ones!!

Dach’s all for now – it’s been a tiring weekend so I’m off to bury myself under a blanket!
